WWE Legend Emotionally Reacts To Cody Rhodes On SmackDown WWE

A WWE Hall of Famer has explained why Cody Rhodes’ segment from this week’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown made him emotional.

During the February 6 show, Cody Rhodes attacked WWE Champion Drew McIntyre.

Addressing McIntyre eliminating him from the Royal Rumble match, a fired-up Rhodes took to the mic to vow that he’ll make sure that McIntyre doesn’t make it to WrestleMania 42.

Speaking on Busted Open, Mark Henry noted that he wants to see more of this “out-of-control” version of Cody Rhodes.

Noting that he got emotional watching Rhodes’ promo because it reminded him of Dusty Rhodes, Mark Henry said:

“When Cody gets irate, angry, out of control, the lisp comes back, baby. He turns into his daddy.

“That promo made my eyes well up, because I thought of Dusty. He was pouring into it, man, Cody was emotional.

“When I get angry, I can’t put a sentence together. I lose my ability to communicate with English. Cody has a lot of that in him. You can hear it in his breathing, he couldn’t even regulate his breathing.

“When Cody also starts to lose control, he also spits. I was like, this is the Cody that you really want to see!

“I want to see out-of-control Cody. I don’t care if Cody goes to the dark side, I just want him to own it.

“Like, ‘The time for me being articulate, the time for me wearing the suits is over. You screwed me out of being in the main event at WrestleMania, and heads are going to roll.'”
