Cody Teases Tony Schiavone And Jim Ross Will Call AEW Matches On TNT

AEW released the Road to TNT Episode 2 tonight on YouTube.  There was some nice build up to the match between Cody and Sammy Guevara that takes place on the debut episode of AEW on TNT.

Sammy takes issue with being labeled with potential.  He feels he’s ready for the spotlight now and not in the future.  The story is similar to the “good hand” comment that ticked off Shawn Spears prior to the All Out match with Cody.  However, Sammy still has a lot to prove.

Tony talks to us from the command center and reminds us the AEW Women’s Title is also up for grabs on the October 2nd debut.  However, this won’t be the last we hear from Tony.

Tony sits down with Cody to talk history, expectations, and his upcoming championship match against Chris Jericho.  At the end of the interview, Cody turns the questioning around.  He asks Tony if we’ll see him in the commentary booth for any of the AEW shows.

Tony says it’s up to Cody, since he’s the boss.  Cody just gives a knowing little wink.  Something about Tony Schiavone’s voice calling wrestling on TNT just feels right.  Hopefully, this time he’ll be given a much better product to call.
