Cody’s TNT Championship open challenge has become one of the most entertaining parts of Dynamite. His weekly title matches have seen the introduction of a few new characters to AEW. Next week will be no different.
All Elite Wrestling has announced that independent star Warhorse will challenge Cody on July 29. This comes after Warhorse led a campaign saying Cody was afraid of him. Warhorse will be the third man from outside AEW to challenge Cody for the title.

Warhorse has become a name on the independent wrestling scene the last few years. He has wrestled for companies like Beyond, GCW, CZW, and EVOLVE prior to this match with Cody.
This next title defence comes after Cody had a brutal match with Eddie Kingston on Dynamite this week. Kingston was a surprise opponent who cut a promo prior to their match, challenging Cody to a No Disqualification match. Cody accepted and would retain the title after getting slammed in thumbtacks.
Cody won the TNT Championship at Double or Nothing, defeating Lance Archer to become the first champion. Since then he has defended against Jungle Boy, Marq Quen, Jake Hager, Ricky Starks, Sonny Kiss, and Eddie Kingston.
