An update has emerged on the AEW future of Colt Cabana following his return to Dynamite on November 2 against Chris Jericho.
Many people came to the conclusion that Cabana’s return was another big indication of CM Punk being on his way out of the promotion, but there’s now some news on what exactly the future holds for Cabana in AEW.
When Colt Cabana’s AEW contract expired a few months ago, it was reported that Tony Khan was originally going to let him go, but then decided to sign him to a Ring of Honor contract instead.
In the latest update, PWInsider is reporting that Cabana’s Dynamite appearance was planned as a “one-off” and he isn’t expected to be appearing on Dynamite regularly.
Cabana remains on the ROH roster, but according to the report, last night was “not about Cabana returning to AEW regularly”, but just part of the storyline of Jericho beating former ROH champions.
After the match, Jericho was about to attack ROH announcer Ian Riccaboni, but was thwarted by the Blackpool Combat Club.
WWE’s latest thoughts on CM Punk following Cabana’s return may have been revealed, which you can read more about at this link.
