Since Big E was split from the New Day in the most recent WWE draft, he’s found himself in limbo on SmackDown, and hasn’t really started any serious feuds.
However, according to the majority of betting sites, Big E is a strong favourite to win the 2021 Royal Rumble match, which would of course earn him a title shot at Wrestlemania 37.
WrestleTalk’s Louis Dangoor exclusively reported yesterday that while he wasn’t a front-runner, Big E’s name had come up in conversation in regards to a potential opponent for Roman Reigns at next year’s ‘Mania.
However, another report from Ringside News suggests that Big E has never been mentioned at all in relation to a big match at WrestleMania 37.
Taking to Twitter, Jon Alba back Dangoor’s report, and said he could confidently report that Big E had indeed been mentioned as a possible opponent, even if he wasn’t one of the main candidates.
I can’t address the rest of the report, but I can speak to one part:
The part about Big E not at one point being considered as one of Roman’s opponents is inaccurate. And I say that with confidence. I don’t know what his status is now, but it absolutely was discussed. https://t.co/u5Q3KIxgS8

Big E would no doubt be a great opponent for someone like Roman, but we’ll have to see where we stand in January or February next year when the WrestleMania card is usually agreed upon.
