What Was Actually Written In The Contract For Becky Lynch Vs. Trish Stratus Match Revealed

What Was Actually Written In The Contract For Becky Lynch Vs. Trish Stratus Match Revealed WWE

Ahead of their grudge match at Saturday, May 27’s WWE Night of Champions, both Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus would sit down on this week’s Raw (May 22) for a good ol’ contract signing.

And while things surprisingly didn’t get physical between the two, a desk was flipped over aggressively by Trish after a scathing call-back in Lynch’s promo referring to Stratus’ infamous dog barking segment back in 2001.

However, before the desk was flipped, the contract was signed by both competitors and now courtesy of Fightful Select (subscription required) we know exactly what was written on said contract.

Although WWE in-ring contract signings are gimmicks, the contract used in the segment legitimately read:

May 22nd, 2023

To whom it may concern,

This document shall serve as a legal and binding agreement amongst all parties scheduled for the Becky Lynch vs. Trish Stratus Match, to be held at the Night of Champions Premium Live Event, to be held on Saturday, May 27th, 2023, at the Jeddah Super Dome, Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah Rd, King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah 23735, Saudi Arabia.

The parties hereby agree to save hold harmless and indemnify WWE, WWE Network, and its affiliates from any liability regarding injuries that may or may not occur during the course of this exhibition.

The winner of the match hereby assigns all publicity rights to WWE, WWE Network, and its affiliates in regard to the Becky Lynch vs. Trish Stratus Match at Night of Champions on May 27th, 2023.

This contract is drawn in the state of Connecticut and all laws of Connecticut shall apply to its execution, arbitration or contest.

So there you go, nice to see WWE pulls out all the stops to make their contracts as official-looking as possible for all their eagle-eyed viewers out there.

With Trish back in WWE for her lengthiest stint since 2006, fans are curious to know how long the WWE Hall of Famer will be sticking around.

While not a guarantee, a recent report has suggested that Lynch and Stratus’ program will in fact not be a one and done, suggesting that the seven-time women’s champion may be around a while longer.

When Stratus first returned, WRKD Wrestling had reported the plan was for a match between her and Lynch at SummerSlam, which takes place on August 5.
