Ronda Rousey’s original WWE contract is set to expire today (April 10), courtesy of WrestlingInc. The former UFC star signed a three-year contract with WWE in 2018, and that deal is set to expire today.
At this time, it’s unclear whether or not Ronda Rousey has extended her WWE contract, or if the company’s higher-ups decided to freeze her deal when she asked for time off after WrestleMania 35.
Dave Meltzer actually spoke about this in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, bringing up the possibility that WWE opted to freeze Ronda Rousey’s contract when she asked to be taken off TV:
It’s possible they froze it from when she asked to take time off. The impression we had is she was always coming back for the planned Los Angeles WrestleMania which was supposed to be this year, but obviously that didn’t happen.
In spite of this, it certainly seems as if WWE and Ronda Rousey will be working together again, as the company’s President revealed that both Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch will be returning soon.
