Corey Graves To Replace Pat McAfee On Tonight’s SmackDown WWE

It was announced last night (July 7) that Pat McAfee had agreed to a long-term contract extension with WWE that will see him both announce and occasionally step into the ring for years to come.

Despite McAfee re-signing with the company, he is slated to miss the first show of his new deal, as Corey Graves announced on today’s episode of WWE After The Bell that he will be filling in for McAfee on tonight’s show.

No reason for McAfee’s absence has been revealed, though it is likely to sell the assault he took from Happy Corbin after last Saturday’s Money In The Bank premium live event went off the air.

McAfee and Corbin are set to collide at the upcoming SummerSlam event in Nashville on July 30.

Everyone in WWE is reportedly ‘thrilled’ to have McAfee re-signing with the company, including Michael Cole, who posted his first tweet in almost four years to congratulate his broadcast partner for his extension.
