Corey Graves WWE Speed Status Update Following NXT Absence

Corey Graves WWE Speed Status Update Following NXT Absence WWE

Following his absence from the January 14 edition of WWE NXT, there has been an update on Corey Graves’ status for this week’s episode of Speed.

Taking to Twitter on Monday, Corey Graves publicly aired his frustrations regarding his current position in WWE after being moved from SmackDown to NXT as of last Tuesday’s New Year’s Evil (January 7).

Following much speculation regarding his status after his initial tweet, Graves would tease that he had a “lot to say” ahead of the Tuesday, January 14 edition of NXT in Orlando, FL, only to eventually not appear on the show whatsoever.

This naturally has led many to wonder what Graves’ status would be for the Wednesday, January 15 edition of WWE Speed – the Twitter exclusive show that Graves has provided commentary for since its inception.

With Chad Gable taking on WWE NXT star Charlie Dempsey on today’s episode, it was not Graves who could be heard on commentary for the match, with Blake Howard instead providing play-by-play for the match.

It’s worth noting that the match in question was taped on the same night as the January 10 WWE SmackDown in Portland, OR – the first SmackDown in some time that Graves was not performing commentary at.

Instead WWE SmackDown’s new regular commentary team of Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett were on the call for the show, having moved to the blue brand after Michael Cole and Pat McAfee’s move to Raw for WWE Raw on Netflix.

You can see the full WWE Speed match between Gable and Dempsey down below, with the Raw star picking up the win over the former NXT Heritage Cup Champion.

We will provide further updates on Corey Graves’ WWE status as more information becomes available.
