The last time we saw Brock Lesnar in WWE was at WrestleMania 36, when he lost the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre.
Now there are two good reasons why we haven’t seen him back. Firstly, because he wouldn’t want to have too many matches a year in his multi-million dollar salary, and secondly, he’s not getting a salary right now seeing as his contract expired after ‘Mania.
So what’s next for Brock?
Well in an interview with WrestlingInc. former WWE producer Gerald Briscoe admitted that he could see Lesnar signing for AEW if the money was right. He did add however that any offer from AEW would definitely be presented to Vince McMahon, who would have a chance to match it.
“If the money is right, and I believe this with all my soul that Brock Lesnar would not do it unless he was offered one of those .. as Ted DiBiase said, ‘Everybody has their damn price.’”
“You talk about frugal. He is one of the most frugal guys there is on the face of the Earth. Did he save us money? Yes, every damn penny of it, but I think it would have to be an extreme circumstance, and I think he would pick up the phone and call Vince about the amount of money that he got offered and see if Vince is going to go to do anything. And honestly, I think Vince would do something.”
It would be shocking if AEW was able to sign Brock, but then if you’d told me we’d be seeing Sting in AEW in 2020, I’d have called you insane.
