Following last week’s buzzworthy NXT episode, a new report has revealed that a “crazy” WWE surprise could be set for the June 4 NXT.
On the May 28 edition of WWE NXT, TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace was revealed as Roxanne Perez’s Battleground opponent for the NXT Women’s Championship.
To close the show, former AEW star Ethan Page made a surprise appearance, attacking NXT Champion Trick Williams and revealing he was behind the attacks on Meta Four.
Reports following the show noted that there was a “hectic” backstage area behind the scenes during the episode.
Fightful Select (subscription required) provided an update, noting that Shawn Michaels was said to be “very secretive” about tonight’s June 4 episode backstage.
The report notes that one NXT source stated to expect “a crazy show” on tonight’s broadcast.
Also noted, Shawn Michaels stood in for one segment during rehearsals as a placeholder.
It has not been confirmed what segment or who he would be stepping in for during this week’s rehearsals.
The report also notes that Michaels only steps in for rehearsals when there are surprises planned for the broadcast.
Tonight’s June 4 edition of WWE NXT will be the go-home show ahead of this Sunday’s NXT Battleground premium live event from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
