A tease of something big for Japanese wrestling seems set to be imminently announced.
The three major Japanese promotions: New Japan Pro Wrestling, All Japan Pro Wrestling and Pro Wrestling NOAH all subsequently just dropped a teaser video for a major announcement via social media.
The post states that this announcement will be made on April 12 at 6pm JST, which would be 5am ET, and 10am BST.
The tease has already led to speculation regarding some kind of cross-promotional event between the three promotions.
The video posted promises to “unite everyone’s power”, potentially teasing a first collaborative show between all three promotions in over a decade.
While NJPW and Pro Wrestling NOAH have been known collaborators, the last time AJPW also joined in was back between 2011-2012 for the All Together events.
As for NJPW and Pro Wrestling NOAH they would recently work together for Wrestle Kingdom 17 as well as for The Great Muta’s retirement tour.
A major NJPW star has recently provided fans an injury update following a stint on the sidelines, you can read more about that here.
