The bracket for the 205 Live Cruiserweight Title tournament has finally been revealed following the final two first round matches on last night’s show.
The debuting Buddy Murphy made his main roster debut in an impressive win over Ariya Daivari, and Mustafa Ali put in the performance of his WWE career with a victory over Englishman Jack Gallagher. The latter match was one of the best in 205 Live history, on a par with – and perhaps topping – the excellent clash between Roderick Strong and Hideo Itami earlier in the round.
205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick revealed the bracket during the show, giving us a better indication as to where WWE is heading with the tournament, which climaxes at WrestleMania.
The full bracket for the remainder of the tournament is as follows:
Quarter-Finals
Cedric Alexander vs. TJP
Roderick Strong vs. Kalisto
Mustafa Ali vs. Buddy Murphy
Drew Gulak vs. Mark Andrews
Semi-Finals
Cedric Alexander/TJP vs. Roderick Strong/Kalisto
Mustafa Ali/Buddy Murphy vs. Drew Gulak/Mark Andrews
Final
Cedric Alexander/TJP/Roderick Strong/Kalisto vs. Mustafa Ali/Buddy Murphy/Drew Gulak/Mark Andrews
It’s too early into 205 Live’s Triple H era to say with any degree of certainty what the final is likely to be, as many surprise results have already occurred in the tournament, but based on the way they have been pushed I would expect to see Mustafa Ali in the final opposite Roderick Strong. If their performances so far in the tournament are anything to go by it would be an absolute belter.
