Cruz Montana – fka Mike Santana – has commented on his WWE future, discussing his plans for his run in NXT.
The former Mike Santana made his first appearance as a signed WWE talent during the July 21 NXT episode.
With Montana already having a run-in with the NXT Champion – meeting Tony D’Angelo in the ring on the July 28 show – there has been some speculation about how long Montana will actually be an NXT star for.
During an interview on Busted Open, Bully Ray asked Montana if he plans for NXT to be a brief stop in his career, or if he’s looking to stay for as long as possible.
Cruz Montana replied:
“To be honest, I’m not putting a timetable on anything. One thing that I’ve learned about myself is that I will go with the flow. I’m going to harvest as much knowledge as I possibly can, whether it’s in six months, eight months, or twelve months.
“However long I’ve got, it’s my job to attain as much as possible. That’s my plan, I want to learn as much as possible, and being able to work under Shawn Michaels is a pleasure in itself, it’s a gift in itself.
“Talk about one of the greatest to ever do it. For me to be able to learn from him and be under him and take in that knowledge, however long I can do it, I’m going to do it.

Montana previously appeared for WWE NXT on a number of occasions as a TNA Wrestling star as part of the talent crossover partnership.
Recalling his thoughts from his first-ever WWE visit, Montana said:
“I remember the first time that I came here, I sat back and I watched. I remember sitting in the stands and watching them do rehearsals and seeing how the machine works.
“I remember saying to myself by the end of the day ‘Oh, this is the WWE for a reason. It’s a totally different beast. There’s no comparison with anything else.”
