In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer confirmed a report made earlier in the week that suggested that WWE was not planning on having a women’s Elimination Chamber match at the pay-per-view next weekend.
The initial report suggested that the match would be on the SmackDown side of things, and Meltzer has not only corroborated this, but has added that the match will see Roman Reigns defend his Universal Championship in the chamber.
At press time there was to be a Smackdown match with Roman Reigns defending the title. We don’t know the participants, other than Kevin Owens is an obvious one.
At the time of writing, there is no word on who Roman Reigns is going to be defending the title against, but with just two episodes of SmackDown before Elimination Chamber, the participants likely be revealed on tonight’s show.
