A current, anonymous member of the WWE roster has discussed the influence that the announcement of AEW has had on Vince McMahon’s company.
Speaking on the debut episode of Total Engagement with Matt Koon, what was described as an “active and well-known” superstar* aired their thoughts on the new promotion, and also discussed WWE’s Saudi Arabia shows.
In response to a question about the influence AEW has had on WWE backstage, the star said: ““The boys feel more confident. The office wants us to think that AEW has nothing to do with new contracts coming.”
When asked about the opinions of the wrestlers who worked the Saudi Arabia shows in light of recent headlines, they said: “Generally the Saudi show hasn’t been looked at as a massive deal, just another show to MOST of the boys.”
