Current WWE Star Pushed For More Women At WrestleMania 37

A current WWE competitor fought for more women to be featured at WrestleMania 37 according to a new report.

Natalya wrestled twice over the two nights of WrestleMania 37. A new report has noted that the WWE veteran fought hard to have the women’s Tag Team Turmoil match featured on The Grandest Stage of them All.

Fightful Select (subscription required) is reporting that the tag team no.1 contender match was originally set for the last episode of SmackDown before WrestleMania.

This plan, in addition to the decision to have no WrestleMania women’s battle royal, would’ve meant many female competitors were to miss out on The Show of Shows.

Natalya reportedly pushed for the Tag Team Turmoil match to be featured on the WrestleMania card. Because of this, more women were able to compete at Raymond James Stadium after a year of pandemic shows.

The team of Natalya and Tamina won the Night 1 gauntlet-style match. They unsuccessfully challenged for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships the next night.

It was previously reported that Natalya’s partner, Tyson Kidd, co-produced the Tag Team Turmoil match. Kidd also produced every women’s championship match on the WrestleMania card.

In the Raw Women’s Championship match, Rhea Ripley pinned Asuka to become the new titleholder. Charlotte Flair returned to WWE the day after Ripley’s big win, with a major change in attitude.
