Dakota Kai Discusses Original Planned Members Of Damage CTRL WWE

The Damage CTRL faction has been at the top of the Raw women’s division since their arrival at SummerSlam.

The trio of Bayley, Dakota Kai & IYO SKY have captured the Women’s Tag Team Championship on two occasions, with Bayley failing to capture the Raw Women’s title from Bianca Belair.

The trio came about when Dakota Kai was re-signed to the company by Triple H following her release earlier this year, and IYO and Bayley returning from injury.

Bayley and Dakota have spoken previously about the idea for a stable featuring them being pitched years prior, but it never came to fruition under the old regime.

Dakota Kai spoke on Getting Over, where she detailed her and Bayley’s original plans for the group, and which members were originally planned.

She said:

“From the very start, when she [Bayley] first messaged me a couple years before, it was myself, Candice LeRae, and Tegan (Nox). Those were the ones that were from the start. Obviously, things have happened from then until now that have changed.

“The photos and stuff we took earlier this year it was myself, IYO, Kay Lee Ray [Alba Fyre] and Raquel Gonzalez [Raquel Rodriguez]. That was like the updated version of that. Then, when she finally repitched it again in a last ditch effort when Triple H basically came to the company again, she sent him those photos of the five of us and his first response was like, ‘What’s Dakota doing right now?’

“I felt really overwhelmed that he thought of me. That was the evolution of that,”

Candice LeRae would end up returning to the company as well as Dakota, with the two of them facing off on the November 28 episode of Raw.
