Current Champion Doesn’t Think WWE Rivalry Will End WWE

Dakota Kai has shared her thoughts on her upcoming clash with Tegan Nox, discussing the history of their rivalry.

Kai and Nox were on-screen tag partners during their time in NXT, until Kai turned on her friend at NXT TakeOver WarGames 2019.

The duo faced off several times following Kai’s betrayal, notably meeting in a streetfight at TakeOver: Portland in February 2020.

On Friday’s (December 16) edition of SmackDown, Kai & IYO SKY of Damage CTRL will defend their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship against Liv Morgan & Tegan Nox.

Speaking with ‘WWE Deutschland’ on Instagram, Kai noted that she doesn’t believe her rivalry with Nox will ever truly end.

Wanting to pin Nox this Friday, Kai said:

“Tegan and I have a long history too. We’ve had such a history in ‘NXT,’ going back and forth. I turned on her in WarGames. We had a street fight in Portland, a cage match on ‘NXT.’

“So I think for me, pinning Tegan, I feel like that would set off a lot of things going forward.

“I don’t think us going against each other is done, but I think that if I pinned her, I think it might set a lot of things in motion going forward.

“I’ve just got a feeling about it. She and I have a long history and I think it would just rub a little bit of salt in the wounds of Tegan if I got to pin her.”
