It seems like a WWE star has stepped up to answer the open challenge of Edge for WrestleMania 38 in Dallas, Texas.
Edge cut an impassioned promo on this past Monday’s Raw challenging the locker room for someone to step up to face the WWE Hall of Fame at the Showcase of Immortals.
On the latest edition of WWE’s The Bump, United States Champion Damian Priest made it clear that he would like to square off with Edge at Mania.
Priest stated:
“Live forever. That’s been like my mantra. I want my name to live forever and I am honestly more than willing to do whatever it takes to achieve it. Beating Edge at WrestleMania seems right up there. I mean it when I say I want to face him. I have said said that for the longest time. Edge has mentored me and become a friend. But we know in this business, this is not a team sport. This is an individual business. So as much as I love Edge, respect him, I’d love to square off with him in the ring and prove what I can do.”
Priest’s “Live forever” catchphrase was used by Edge during his promo on Raw and could have teased an eventual showdown between the two down the road.
Edge also teased AJ Styles, Finn Balor and Cody Rhodes as WrestleMania opponents during the same promo.
Damian Priest’s road to WrestleMania 38 will not be an easy one as he will defend the United States Championship on next Monday’s Raw against Finn Balor.
