Daniel Bryan Reveals Shocking Dream WrestleMania Opponent

WWE star Daniel Bryan has discussed his dream WrestleMania opponent, and his pick is an unconventional choice.

Bailey Matthews recently made his NXT UK debut, losing to Tyler Bate last month. According to Daniel Bryan, not only does William Regal’s son have WrestleMania potential, Bryan wants to be the one to face Matthews at The Show of Shows.

Speaking to Alex McCarthy for TalkSPORT about dream WrestleMania matches, Bryan recalled Regal’s influence on his own career. Noting that Matthews is really talented for his experience level, Bryan noted that he’d love to face his former mentor’s son at a WrestleMania years in the future.

Here is the full quote:

“If I could do a match ten years from now, and this is assuming that I’m still capable of doing it and that he progresses to a level like that, one of the things that I think would be really cool… William Regal’s son, Bailey Matthews.

“He just recently started on NXT UK. For his experience level, he’s doing really well.

“I loved being able to wrestle William Regal the times that I did in WWE, but I’m not sure people know how much he has affected my career. He has affected it so much. What he’s given to me and he’s never asked for anything from me.”

Daniel Bryan also threw Shawn Michaels and Cesaro into the conversation of dream WrestleMania opponents.

At WrestleMania 37, Bryan will challenge for Roman Reigns’ Universal Championship in a threeway match also featuring Edge. On the latest episode of SmackDown, Edge attacked Reigns and Bryan with a chair, cementing his heel turn.

Also on the show, it was announced that Logan Paul will appear on next week’s show. A new report has claimed that the social media star could play a role in a highly anticipated WrestleMania 37 match.
