Daniel Bryan To Face Mustafa Ali On SmackDown Live

If you’d asked me who on the entire WWE roster Daniel Bryan was facing tonight, I don’t think Mustafa Ali would have been in my top 20 guesses.

But here we are, and what a match this could be. Ali is one of the company’s most gifted in ring performers and has put on some of the greatest matches of the year in 205 Live.

Whether or not this is a sign that WWE are looking to transition him into a main roster star is another question, but a good outing against WWE Champion Bryan could certainly do Ali’s career a whole world of good.

Bryan faces AJ Styles at TLC this coming Sunday, so he’ll be looking to pick up a win to keep his new heel momentum going.

Hopefully WWE have more in store than just a squash match, and the optimist in me thinks they probably do, as if they just wanted someone to job to Bryan there are plenty of good R-Truths lying around.

It has all the makings of a great match and if given plenty of time, could be one of the highlights of the year for WWE.
