Daniel Cormier Recalls Talks With WWE About Working With NXT Stars WWE

Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier has stated that WWE has reached out to him about angles for WWE NXT.

Cormier has previously shown interest in working with WWE, notably calling out Roman Reigns in April 2021.

Speaking during a Twitter Spaces with Monster Energy, Cormier noted that he’s good friends with Julius Creed, one half of the current NXT Tag Team Champions.

Noting that he hasn’t been able to make an NXT appearance work, Cormier said:

“I actually talk to them quite a bit. I’m friends with a lot of people that are in that company. I speak to Triple H. I’ve got some friends that are competing. My brothers, not my actual brother, one of my friends, Jacob Kasper (Julius Creed), he’s part of the Creed Brothers. They are in the WWE and the NXT Champions, they are the smaller league champions.

“I’ve been asked a couple of times to do stuff with them for the promotion, but I haven’t been able to make it work. It’s something I want to do.”

Cormier is a huge name in MMA. The former fighter became the second ever athlete to hold UFC titles in two different weight classes simultaneously, holding both the UFC Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight titles at the same time.

He announced his retirement from MMA in August 2020 and now acts as a UFC analyst and commentator.

The Creed Brothers won the NXT Tag Team Championship at NXT In Your House last month. Stay up to date with every WWE title change of 2022 using our tracker at this link.
