UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier has discussed his WWE appearance at Extreme Rules, officiating the Fight Pit main event.
During the show, Matt Riddle and Seth Rollins faced off in a Fight Pit bout. Riddle was ultimately victorious, with special guest referee Daniel Cormier calling for the submission victory.
In a WWE Digital Exclusive video after the bout, Cormier addressed his altercation with Rollins during the bout, arguing that Rollins was disrespecting him.
Indicating that Rollins and Riddle’s rivalry is now over, Cormier said:
“It was amazing. Those guys fought. You knew that a rivalry like that needed an ending like that. Something very true. Something that could not be questioned and Matt Riddle got it done. It was tremendous being inside the Fight Pit.
“I had to put (Rollins) in his place because he’s been disrespectful. He grabbed me while I was checking on Matt Riddle. But I said I would be fair. I thought that I was that tonight. I came here to do a job and I think I did that job to the best of my abilities.”
Cormier recently commented on speculation about his WWE future, noting that his Extreme Rules appearance was a one-off.
