Daniel Garcia Discusses Winning ROH Pure Championship AEW

Daniel Garcia has spoken about what it meant to win the ROH Pure Championship in his hometown of Buffalo, New York in a new video.

After he was ushered into this hometown match by Buffalo’s own Westside Gunn, Daniel Garcia took to the ring and took control of his future.

By winning the Ring of Honor Pure Championship in front of the boisterous hometown crowd, Daniel Garcia says that he definitely now knows who he is.

Commenting on the big win in front of so many special people to him, Garcia says in the video released on AEW’s official Twitter account:

“I wanted Buffalo, New York to show me who I am. I don’t know if you heard the reactions, I don’t know if you heard what they were saying but I think they told me and I think I learned exactly who I am tonight.”

Elsewhere in the piece, Daniel Garcia references Bryan Danielson as his “hero” and Chris Jericho as his mentor while also referencing how important Wheeler Yuta has been to his career.

For his part, Wheeler Yuta also speaks in the clip about his defeat offering that he can look at it in two ways, knowing that he got his friend back (“that wasn’t a sports entertainer, that was a professional wrestler,”) but also, “probably the worst night of my life.”

Also, Yuta spoke about Danielson shoving Garcia aside to shake his hand and fires up that he isn’t second best, and that this is not the end of their ROH Pure Championship rivalry.
