Darby Allin Names AEW Spot He ‘Flew Too Close To The Sun’ With AEW

Former TNT Champion Darby Allin has named the one AEW spot he believes he ‘flew too close to the sun’ with.

Allin has been involved in so many painful looking spots in AEW, from hitting a coffin drop on the ring apron at Fyter Fest 2019, to hitting a swanton bomb from the top of a ladder through glass on the outside of the ring at Revolution 2024.

During his appearance on AEW Meal & a Match, Renee Paquette asked Allin if there were any spots he felt he flew too close to the sun with.

Naming the Double or Nothing 2024 Anarchy in the Arena spot during which the Young Bucks superkicked him with thumbtack covered shoes while he was suspended upside-down, Allin said:

I was being held upside down and my nose hadn’t fully recovered after getting hit by a bus.

I took the face mask off in the match, and the next spot we’re hanging upside down and I get superkicked with thumbtacks glued to the bottom of their shoes and it busts my nose open.

I was upside down, blood spraying everywhere and I was like ‘I broke my nose again.’

Allin last wrestled on the November 6 Dynamite episode, teaming with Orange Cassidy to face off against Claudio Castagnoli & PAC of the Death Riders.
