Darby Allin appeared for roughly 30 seconds on this week’s (July 28) episode of Dynamite, but still managed to break the wrestling internet.
Darby had an interview with Alex Marvez on the show, where he spoke about wanting to face everyone in AEW and quote ‘Even if you think you are the Best In The World’ end quote.
Well according to Darby Allin himself during a meet-and-greet with the Asylum Wrestling Store, the promo was actually NOT a reference to CM Punk, or even Shane McMahon, but rather Sammy Guevara.
Darby said:
“No, that’s more Sammy Guevara (we were alluding to) because he calls himself the best ever. Yeah, well people read into it too much. Sammy Guevara, (he) calls himself the best ever so…It’s cool dude. It’s awesome that people actually care and wanna know what’s going on so…”
