Darius Martin Offers Update On ACL Injury

AEW’s Darius Martin has provided an update on his ACL injury that has kept him out of action for most of the year.

Martin last wrestled during the February 24 AEW Dark taping. He underwent ACL surgery towards the end of April.

During the post-Full Gear media scrum last month, Darius’ brother, Dante Martin, revealed that there wasn’t a time-frame for Darius’ return to action.

Darius has since spoken with Jon Alba on One-On-One about his recovery. The AEW talent stated that he is trying to get cleared, noting that AEW has been a big help while he’s been on the shelf:

“I’m feeling pretty good, just moving around, taking it day by day, trying to get the clearance again, working my way up and building the strength again. You never want injuries, but I’m thankful it came at a time where I am fortunate enough to have this deal with AEW. AEW has been great to me during it. I really feel all the love and support from them. I’ve been fortunate enough to have that.”

“I’m still on the road, they’ve still been paying me. I’m still lucky enough to have that job and financial security because of AEW. It’s a great place and Tony Khan is an amazing boss who really values his employees and treats us like human beings. Tony is the best.”

During Darius’ recovery, Dante Martin has established himself as a singles competitor on AEW TV. During Wednesday’s Dynamite: Winter is Coming show, Dante faced off against MJF for the Dynamite Diamond Ring.
