Dark Side Of The Ring Creator Addresses Rumors WWE Attempted To Cancel Show WWE/VICE

Dark Side of the Ring creator has addressed rumors that WWE attempted to cancel their show.

Vice’s Dark Side of the Ring has taken viewers behind the curtain into some of the darker stories of the wrestling business.

For over three seasons and covering the stories of legends such as Owen Hart and Brian Pillman, the series has become a central part of the wrestling experience.

Vice has put the program on hold with the company producing a new lighter show entitled “Tales From The Territories”, covering stories from the territory days of professional wrestling.

On the latest edition of “Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling Podcast”, Dark Side of the Ring co-creator Evan Husney addressed rumblings that WWE had tried pressuring A&E in an attempt to get Vice to cancel the series.

He said:

“Some rumor about how like, WWE was putting pressure on A&E to not, you know, let our shows, you know, like it’s too controversial, so we’re going to cancel it, but, you know, Vice would never do that because it’s their most successful show. If ‘Dark Side’ wasn’t successful, I could see not doing another season for sure.”

Husney continued on to reveal he could see why people may believe the rumors may be true, saying:

“I could see where people would put two and two together. Any form of conspiracy is just always the most boring answer or is just the most boring. It’s not all an elaborate conspiracy and in this case, the boring answer is we just made another show for a second.”

“Tales From The Territories” airs every Tuesday at 10PM ET on VICE.

As previously reported, the Dark Side of the Ring creators previously addressed the future of the series in a recent interview.
