WWE
Gone are the days of the NXT TakeOver, the shows that made so many people fall in love with the black and gold brand. We’re in the age of the premium live event now.
So far in 2022, NXT has had two Premium Live Events, with Stand and Deliver at the beginning of April, and In Your House in June.
According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it looks like the next premium live event will be at the end of August.
Dave Meltzer wrote:
They are tentatively planning a major NXT show for late August, with 8/20 and 8/27 being looked at as possible dates for the next “Don’t call it Takeover” show.
Much like AEW, NXT has been holding a number of TV specials such as The Great American Bash this past week as a way of giving away exciting cards for free.
The last ever TakeOver show took place in August 2021, so perhaps this will be a way of marking the one year anniversary of its death.
