A top star has claimed whatever Jay White and Juice Robinson are doing in AEW is not the Bullet Club.
At NJPW 51st Anniversary, David Finlay joined the Bullet Club and took over for former leader Jay White who left NJPW following his loss at Battle In The Valley in February.
Since his emergence into the leadership position, Finlay has made major changes to the group, such as kicking El Phantasmo out and adding Clark Connors.
Meanwhile, White has since signed with All Elite Wrestling and aligned himself with Juice Robinson and introduced Bullet Club Gold to the world.
Speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Finlay discussed the new era of the Bullet Club and noted his belief that the group previously lost sight of its mission under the old regime. He stated:
“We lost sight of what Bullet Club is designed to do. We became obsessed with selling T-shirts. That isn’t our intent. Bullet Club is here to disrupt and destroy. “This is my Bullet Club.”
“It’s going to be the most violent, ruthless version, and it’s going to be defined by blood and championship gold.”
Finlay’s new version of the group also features Gedo, KENTA, Bad Luck Fale, Taiji Ishimori and the newly added Clark Connors. Making it clear that there is one and only Bullet Club, Finlay said:
“Juice and Jay, whatever they’re doing in AEW, I don’t know what that is. Make no mistake—they are not part of the real Bullet Club.”
Jay White will make his official in-ring debut as an AEW star on the April 19 edition of AEW Dynamite when he faces Komander. Meanwhile, David Finlay will challenge Tama Tonga for the NEVER Openweight Championship at NJPW Wrestling Dontaku on May 3.
