DDT Pro-Wrestling President Sanshiro Takagi has named the AEW stars that he’d like to see wrestle for his promotion in the future.
Earlier this year in March, AEW and DDT Pro officially announced a working relationship. Former DDT Pro star Konosuke Takeshita notably gained popularity in the US following his recent AEW visits, and has now signed with AEW.
Speaking on the DDT YouTube channel, Sanshiro Takagi discussed his recent AEW visit.
Noting that he’d like to have the lieks of Ethan Page, Sammy Guevara and Ricky Starks return to a DDT Pro ring one day, Takagi said:
“I got to meet other guys who were in DDT before, like Ethan Page, Sammy Guevara, and Ricky Starks. I’m so glad to meet them.
“Ethan, Sammy, Ricky, all of them said their time in DDT was unforgettable. If there’s a chance to go again bring them again. I’d like to bring them again.
“Ricky Starks really grew lots! We brought him and Mike Rollins as a unit and I thought they were a team but they weren’t!”
Keeping tight-lipped about the stars who told him that they do want to return to Japan, Takagi noted:
“They were a few wrestlers saying out of politeness ‘I want to come Japan again’ or ‘I’d like to wrestle in Japan.’
“Some of them really got me and perhaps I might bring some over. I won’t say who right now however.”
AEW also has a working relationship with Japanese promotion New Japan Pro Wrestling.
Kenny Omega will return to NJPW in the new year to face Will Ospreay at Wrestle Kingdom 17 on January 4.
