Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp has revealed via their website that Dean Ambrose made the decision not to be apart of the mini-Shield reunion moment that followed Roman Reigns’ announcement at the beginning of last night’s Raw.
In the opening segment, Reigns let the world know that he is in remission from Leukemia and is on his way back to a WWE ring. Following the incredible news, the ‘Big Dog’ began walking up the ramp as Seth Rollins’ music hit. The two embraced in a very touching moment. Ambrose, however, was nowhere to be found.
Later in the show, Ambrose took on Drew McIntyre in a no-disqualification match that ended in a four-on-one beat down. While McIntyre, Bobby Lashley, Elias, and Baron Corbin attacked an already beaten Dean, Rollins & Reigns made the save with steel chairs in hand.
According to Sapp, Ambrose was overwhelmed with emotion during Reigns’ announcement and that the decision to have the former Shield members make the save later on was made after the initial reunion.
