Stars For Everybody!
Following Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada being awarded 7 stars last month, there’s a theory that Dave Meltzer’s controversial ratings system has actually been out of 10 the entire time… and he just hates wrestling.
Well if that’s true, it seems Big Dave is finally falling in love with the squared circle, as his latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter has just given THREE SEPARATE FIVE STAR RATINGS IN ONE WEEK! And only 66.6 recurring percent of those were in Japan.
Stars for you, stars for you, stars for everybody!
Meltzer rated both of Kenny Omega’s matches against Tetsuya Naito and Hirooki Goto from this week’s G1 Climax tournament for New Japan as five stars, and the other was to the Undisputed Era regaining their tag team titles from Moustache Mountain on last week’s episode of NXT.
And one WWE star may still be on their way East, which could potentially increase New Japan’s average star rating to ‘all the stars’.
