Deonna Purrazzo has commented on her ROH Women’s Championship loss on Wednesday’s edition of AEW Dynamite.
In the main event of the show, interim champion Mercedes Martinez defeated Deonna Purrazzo to become the undisputed ROH Women’s Champion. Martinez’ win ended Purrazzo’s reign with the gold at 115 days.
Despite coming up short, Purrazzo has remained positive about her AEW debut, tweeting:
Win, lose, draw… I am proud.
Thank you @TonyKhan @AEW @ringofhonor ❤️
Purrazzo had won the ROH Women’s Championship on IMPACT in January, prior to Tony Khan’s acquisition of ROH. Purrazzo was unable to compete at Supercard of Honor on April 1, the event at which Martinez defeated Willow for the interim title.
Ahead of Dynamite, Tony Khan confirmed that his ROH acquisition has now been finalised, making him the official owner of the promotion.
An AEW Women’s Championship match has now been made official for Double or Nothing, which you can read more about right here.
Win, lose, draw… I am proud.
