The next move of a recently departed AEW name has potentially been revealed after they left the company this past week.

It was recently reported that former AEW writer Jimmy Jacobs had left the company, noting that he had ‘effectively resigned’ from the position.

The two sides are still described as being on “amicable terms”, and AEW is going to try to look at Jacobs’ departure as a way to “freshen up” the writers’ room.

Jacobs had reportedly been feeling “burned out” in recent times.

However, following his departure, Jacobs’ next move in wrestling may have potentially been revealed.

Scott D’Amore’s new Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling relaunch is set to take place today, and per PWInsider, Jacobs is present backstage at tonight’s show in Windsor.

When it was asked what Jacobs’ role at the show was, an official from Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling simply responded that he was ‘being Jimmy’.

Jacobs recently made an appearance at an independent event in Detroit, his first wrestling appearance since his departure from AEW.
