Departing WWE Star Makes Surprise Return To Former Promotion

A departing WWE star made a surprise return to the promotion where her career first began.

Last night saw Hoodslam host their ‘Fearless’ event in Oakland, CA (June 6), and in an unexpected turn of events – former WWE NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion Shotzi made an appearance.

Returning to the promotion where she originally began her career back in 2014, Shozti stepped into a Hoodslam ring for the first time since 2019 – with it also being her first in-ring appearance confirming her WWE departure last month.

Taking to Twitter, Shotzi commented on the “sentimental” appearance:

SURPRISE! I had to kick off this next chapter of my career where it all started for me!

Wrestled one of my OG trainers last night in an emotional and sentimental match that really epitomized what you all are about to see from me.

Shotzi announced her departure from WWE after six years with the company last month, with the company reportedly opting not to renew her contract.

While there has been question marks surrounding when Shotzi’s WWE contract was officially expiring, it appears as if she’s now clear to compete elsewhere once again.

Shotzi was recently confirmed to be heading to Japan in late July for GCW’s three event tour of the country, and is set to appear at MLW’s Summer of the Beasts event on June 26.
