More details have emerged on the scrapped plans for a Brock Lesnar vs Bray Wyatt match at WrestleMania 39.
On the February 27 edition of WWE Raw, Brock Lesnar accepted Omos’ challenge for a match at the April event, to the shock of many.
Following a controversial finish to their match at Elimination Chamber, many expected Lesnar to face Lashley one more time at the SoFi Stadium show.
It had also been speculated that The Beast could battle Bray Wyatt, after Wyatt made it clear that he’d have his eyes on the Elimination Chamber singles bout.
Fightful later reported that Brock Lesnar was pitched Bray Wyatt as a WrestleMania opponent.
Per the report, those familiar with the situation claimed that Lesnar himself nixed the idea of wrestling Wyatt.
Per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Lesnar turning down the Wyatt match led to WWE changing the finish of Lesnar’s match with Lashley at Elimination Chamber.
Meltzer noted:
“Originally what was going to happen was Brock was beating Bobby Lashley at Elimination Chamber, and that was going to lead to Brock against Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania, and that’s why Bray Wyatt did that interview (calling out the winner).
“But after they did that, they had to change the finish.”

At the February 18 event, Lashley defeated Lesnar via disqualification after Lesnar dropped the All Mighty with a low-blow to escape the Hurt Lock.
As promised, Wyatt has targeted the winner of the match, with the supernatural star interrupting a Bobby Lashley segment on Raw with his ‘muscle man dance’.
