AEW is no stranger to holding major backstage meetings, with many taking place over the past few months.
On last week’s show, former AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa returned to the road for the first time since her injury, with her being a part of the episode’s Spanish commentary team.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required) a locker room meeting was held for all of the women on the AEW roster who were present at the tapings last week.
The meeting’s purpose was an effort to ease tension between Rosa and the women’s locker room, as several relationships had frayed prior to her injury.
Those that spoke to Fightful said that Rosa did a lot of ‘making amends’ for several issues that occurred during her previous stint in the company, with various names on the women’s roster taking issue with her approach to things, as well as other believing she made other members of the roster seem like bullies.
There were also the infamous complaints about Rosa ‘sandbagging’ opponents, which was referenced on television during her feud with Britt Baker last year.
One member of the roster said that Rosa was met with some of those issues early into her run with the company as well, but that since been amended.
Some members of the roster took issue with Rosa not being on the road with the company, while she continued to travel for other work, as well as questioning the legitimacy of her injury, which Rosa had addressed publicly.
Those close to Thunder Rosa say that she has not yet been cleared to return to the ring, but is getting closer to it.
Rosa vacated the AEW Women’s World Championship back in September, with Toni Storm being crowned the interim champion at All Out.
A member of AEW management told Fightful that they believed the meeting was productive, hoping that it would serve as a ‘clean slate’.
