On last night’s AEW Rampage debut (August 13), AEW Women’s World Champion Britt Baker retained her championship against Red Velvet. During the final moments of the match, Velvet began working over Baker’s broken wrist.
Fightful Select (subscription required) has an update on Britt Baker’s injury. Fightful notes that the injury occured when Baker took a Death Valley Driver from Nyla Rose in their match.
AEW sources said that Baker didn’t cut the match short despite suffering the injury, and worked over four minutes with the injury.
Baker has continued to work through the injury, and looks set to clash with Kris Statlander for the championship next, following Jamie Hayter’s debut at the end of last night’s show.
