WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page has confirmed that he was approached about having a potential ‘Last Match’ event.
On July 31, Ric Flair teamed with Andrade El Idolo to face off against Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal in the main event of the ‘Ric Flair’s Last Match’ Starrcast V wrestling card.
Several other WWE legends have revealed that they’ve turned down offers for their own ‘Last Match’ event, including Booker T.
On his DDP Snake Pit podcast, Page revealed that Conrad Thompson reached out to him about a show built around a final match.
DDP said:
“It’s nothing I’ll ever do. Conrad was like ‘You know DDP, you’d be perfect to do one of these,’ I was like ‘Nah bro, I’m good. I had my last match, it’s never going to be better than that.’ I was lucky enough to have all my boys around me and it was fun. I’m good with that.”
Page last wrestled at AEW Dynamite: Bash At The Beach 2020, teaming with Dustin Rhodes & QT Marshall to battle the team of MJF, The Butcher & The Blade.
Ric Flair recently opened up about his retirement match, revealing that he passed out twice during the bout.
