Tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite (December 7) kicked off with the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royal.
The winner of the Battle Royal will earn a match with AEW World Champion MJF, the current holder of the Diamond Ring, at a later date.
Ricky Starks, Jack Perry, Orange Cassidy, Kip Sabian, Dalton Castle, Shawn Dean, Brian Cage, Dustin Rhodes, The Butcher, Lee Moriarty, Ethan Page and Matt Hardy made up the field for the match.
Hardy, Page, Starks and Dean were the final four in the bout, with Starks picking up the victory.
Starks’ victory entitles him to a shot at MJF for the Diamond Ring, on top of the AEW World Championship match he already earned by winning the AEW World Championship Eliminator tournament.
Starks did not get a chance to celebrate his victory though, as the champ very quickly interrupted Starks following the victory.
The two then took part in a war of words.
