In recent years, it has become common practice to have people rehearse matches in WWE. This is especially the case with people who are inexperienced in pro wrestling, such as Ronda Rousey. Now, we know whether or not the recent Pat McAfee and Adam Cole match was rehearsed.
Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that he was told that they did not rehearse their performance. Here is the full quote, courtesy of Wrestling News:
“From what I’m told they did not even rehearse this match. I heard that they just went in there and did it because they knew Pat was good and they know Adam is great and even then it exceeded — they did some really cool stuff.”
Most people who have watched their match have said McAfee blew away expectations. The match was McAfee’s pro wrestling debut, which made this performance that much more impressive. McAfee did not win the match but in many people’s minds, it would not be a bad thing if he stepped in the ring again.
The match is also a credit to Adam Cole, who should get a ton of props for being the veteran in a match like this.
