Earlier today WWE confirmed that both Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff have been assigned new backstage roles within the company.
Paul Heyman is set to become the Executive Director of Raw, while Eric Bischoff will have the same position for Smackdown.
BREAKING: WWE names Paul @HeymanHustle Executive Director of #Raw and @EBischoff Executive Director of #SDLive, as first reported by @SInow! https://t.co/5kVwoyfxUw

Since the news, many fans, critics and even wrestlers have taken to social media to express their excitement over the new hires.
One such wrestler is Seth Rollins, with the Universal Champion clearly excited to see Eric Bischoff back with WWE.

However, another talent signed to WWE seems far less enthused about the breaking news.
NXT superstar Tyler Breeze took to Twitter minutes after the news broke to question why people don’t “looking toward the future instead of the past”.
I wish people would look toward the future instead of the past
— Breeze (@MmmGorgeous) June 27, 2019
While he was not explicitly talking about the hiring of Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff, the timing of the tweet and the fact that both Bischoff and Heyman held positions within the company in the early 2000s certainly make it plausible.
This would not be the first time that Breeze has been critical of WWE for their reliance on figures for wrestling’s past.
After the announcement that Goldberg and The Undertaker would be facing off at WWE Super ShowDown, Breeze cryptically tweeted “It’s 2019…”.
