D’Lo Brown has opened up about his wrestling career, believing he hasn’t done enough to warrant a WWE Hall of Fame induction.
Brown notably held the WWE European Championship on four separate occasions. In July 1999, Brown won the Intercontinental Championship, while also defending the European Title, to become the first ‘Eurocontinental Champion’.
Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Brown questioned whether his career achievements could one day land him a place in the WWE Hall of Fame, noting:
“I don’t think I’ve done enough the business to warrant a Hall of Fame Induction. I mean, just my opinion.”
Brown was also the longest active member of the Nation of Domination faction. Discussing his relationship with Ron Simmons (Farooq), Brown said:
“All top talent, all guys that I was fortunate enough and blessed enough to be around, and first and foremost is Ron Simmons. I mean, to have that man as your mentor, your life coach, your pseudo-father, it doesn’t get any better than that. And mind you, the whole time, I idolized this man growing up.
“So to have the opportunity to go from watching him, hell, I was in the arena when he won the WCW World Title From Big Van Vader in Baltimore, Maryland. I was there as a fan. So to go from that to five years later, standing in another ring in the same building, standing next to the man – surreal.”
As of writing, The Undertaker and Vader have been announced for the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2022. The ceremony will air on April 1, ahead of WrestleMania 38 on April 2 & 3.
Check out the announced cards for WrestleMania Saturday (April 2) here, and WrestleMania Sunday (April 3) here.
