Does Rey Mysterio Want To End His Career With WWE?

The subject of Rey Mysterio returning to WWE in the near future has been at the forefront of professional wrestling news in recent weeks. Some have even gone on to falsely report that he re-signed with the company when it was announced the luchador would be a pre-order bonus on WWE 2K19. These rumors were fuelled by his participation both Royal Rumble matches this year.

However, a full-time comeback has yet to happen with the former World Heavyweight Champion competing for promotions around the world, including appearances for New Japan Pro Wrestling who he’ll appear for again on August 12 during the final night of their much-lauded G1 Climax Tournament. Other appearances this year will include All In on September 1 and Chris Jericho’s Rock N’ Wrestling Rager At Sea cruise.

Despite his busy schedule, the ‘Biggest Little Man’ still desires a return to WWE and this was the subject of his interview with Noelle Foley – yes, we know – for Ringside Collectables:

“It is in my agenda. I would definitely like to close out my career with WWE. With that being said, I don’t have much left on my watch. So I’m thinking anywhere from three to five years and I can really see a possible return to WWE without a doubt.”

With countless knee operations under his belt and his body beginning to wear heavy, fans have been calling for Rey to return to the promotion one last time to give his epic career a rightful finale. It’s somewhat overwhelming to hear the legend finally state that he doesn’t have long left on the clock. Not many would openly state this. Now it seems that a proper return isn’t far away.
