Dolph Ziggler made his return to WWE Raw on tonight’s November 17 episode of the show in the ‘Last Time Is Now’ tournament.
Heading into tonight, Solo Sikoa was set to face a mystery opponent in a first round tournament match, with the eventual winner going on to face John Cena in his final match at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13.
On SmackDown this past Friday, LA Knight was in a similar position, and his opponent ended up being the returning Zack Ryder.
Tonight was a similar return as Dolph Ziggler emerged as Sikoa’s opponent.
A story on Friday was that Zack Ryder returned under that name, and not as Matt Cardona, which is his real name and the named he’s performed under since his WWE departure a few years ago.
Ziggler has been parallel to that in the sense he’s been performing as Nic Nemeth since he exited WWE, but he returned with the Dolph Ziggler name tonight.
It ended up being Sikoa who picked up the win, advancing in the tournament, meaning both of the mystery participants in the tournament – Ryder and Ziggler – were eliminated at the first hurdle by Knight and Sikoa respectively.
Another tournament match will take place tonight as GUNTHER returns to face Je’Von Evans – UPDATE: GUNTHER scored the win in that one.
