Dominik Mysterio Gives Honest Reaction To John Cena WWE Praise WWE

Dominik Mysterio has shared his honest reaction to John Cena praising him after WWE WrestleMania 41.

At WrestleMania 41 Night Two Dominik Mysterio captured his first singles main roster title, pinning Judgment Day stablemate Finn Balor to become new Intercontinental Champion in a four-way also featuring Penta and Bron Breakker.

The day after the win, new Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena appeared on The Pat McAfee Show and showered praise on Dom – saying that he “makes everything effortless”, even comparing him to fellow third generation star Randy Orton.

Dom reacted to Cena’s praise whilst speaking to The Wrestling Classic on Casual Conversations, saying it was “really special” to hear, while confessing his fandom for the 17-time champion growing up.

Mysterio said:

“That was super dope of him to do that. John doesn’t have to do any of that stuff. He’s John Cena. He’s the biggest movie star in the world, along with the biggest wrestler currently in the world.

“For him to say those things about me, it’s really cool to see. Especially because I started with him when the pandemic ended and we had the live crowd back. He was the guy that was there for me with the tag matches and giving me advice. We were both babyfaces at that time. I was tagging with Cena and Rey Mysterio against Roman [Reigns] and The Usos [Jimmy Uso & Jey Uso]. I had Cena, Roman, the Usos in my ear this whole time.

“The fact that Cena was able to see me from that beginning to a year or two later when he came back, I was a bad guy then and I got to wrestle him in a dark match. He’s seen me through this whole process and what I’ve gone through.

“For him to say those words about me is really special. I’ve known that dude since I was a kid. I love the Dr. of Thuganomics. I played his album when I was in school or before I jumped in the shower. I was a Cena mark. It’s really cool to hear from a guy like that.”

Dominik successfully defended his Intercontinental Championship against Penta at WWE Backlash on May 10, while Cena was also successful at the event – retaining the Undisputed WWE Title against Randy Orton.
