Dominik Mysterio Reflects On His Time In ‘Prison’

Dominik Mysterio Reflects On His Time In ‘Prison’ WWE

Of all the stars in WWE that have seemingly benefitted from Triple H’s creative regime its hard to argue that any have outshone Dominik Mysterio and the Judgment Day as a whole.

Whilst viewed as a rather corny act with their original incarnation, the group of Finn Bálor, Damian Priest, Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio have all flourished and, outside of Roman Reigns and GUNTHER, have become the hottest heels on the entire roster.

While all have evolved greatly, Dom’s transformation has been most apparent, going from little more than Rey’s son to receiving the loudest crowd reactions of anyone on a weekly basis.

Perhaps a turning point for Dom’s character was during the excellent build to the father vs son clash at WrestleMania where the ‘ex-con Dom’ persona would be born following his ‘arrest’ at the Mysterio home on Christmas Eve.

Whilst entirely tongue and cheek, in a recent interview with G-Moiny, Dom would detail his time in jail and how his fellow Judgment Day members would make sure he was well taken care of.

Dom explained:

“They were very supportive. I remember the day I got taken away, Mami (Rhea) was there, she was the first phone call. She was there to bail me out.

“I spent a couple of hours in there, and it wasn’t a good time. After I made it out, they made sure that I was taken care of.

“Mami had fresh food for me, fresh clothes, made sure I was taken care of. Priest made sure that no one messed with me. Finn was grabbing me blankets and pillows because I was very uncomfortable. They were all making sure that I was taken care of.”

Dom’s prison-based gimmick would memorably play into his entrance at WrestleMania 39, with him being escorted directly from ‘jail’ to SoFi Stadium via a prison bus.

While reports have stated that WWE are high on Dom, Damian Priest has also reportedly impressed the right people behind-the-scenes following an impressive showing at WWE Backlash against Bad Bunny, click here to find out more.
