Dominik Mysterio WWE Intercontinental Championship Feud Update

WWE

The future of Dominik Mysterio’s WWE Intercontinental Championship feud with AJ Styles has been revealed ahead of Worlds Collide.

Mysterio has two singles victories over Styles in recent months, retaining the WWE Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam on August 3 and defeating him once again on the September 1 episode of Raw.

It looks like this won’t be the end of Styles and his quest to claim the Judgment Day member’s championship, though.

According to PWInsider Elite, “the word making the rounds” backstage at the recent episode of WWE Raw was that the recent loss wasn’t going to bring the Mysterio-Styles storyline to an end.

There was talk that the story is set to continue at the Worlds Collide: Las Vegas event on September 12, where Mysterio is set to face El Hijo del Vikingo for the AAA Mega Championship.

That match comes after Mysterio’s attempts to win the AAA Mega Championship at Triplemania XXXIII on August 16 were thwarted by AJ Styles.

While it is yet to be confirmed, the report speculates that Styles could be involved in the upcoming Worlds Collide event in some capacity.

At the time of writing, only the AAA Mega Championship match has been confirmed for the crossover show, with that match expected to be the main event.

With his victory at WrestleMania 41 in April, Mysterio has held the WWE Intercontinental Championship for 137 days, at the time of writing.

Mysterio has recently revealed he is open to a match against John Cena, who could potentially retire without ever being a WWE Grand Slam Champion without an Intercontinental Championship win.
